Quality Auspicious Calligraphy Wall Plaque (Double Happiness, Wealth, Luck, Long Life)We have four Chinese wooden 'words' as they are translated, which are very beautifully made of dark wood. In Feng Shui, the material an item is made of is very important - I chose the element of wood because it enhances the growth factor of each 'word' carved from it, as opposed to metal calligraphy, which is by nature hard, sharp and often cutting. Tibetan Magical Bronze BowlVery unusual. Each bowl is hand-cast from bronze, with a green patina with either finely etched dragons in the bottom of the large bowl, or a fish pattern in the smaller one. Known as Lung Ding, it is said that this basin is the source of all myths about the Feng Shui fountains. The basin with it's classic beauty first appears in China's Han Dynasty. The bowls are tuned similarly to singing bowls. If you pour clean water into the basin and rub the brass 'ears'- the handles with your hands, sweet tones will be heard from the basin itself and four fountains of water will leap from the surface of the water. These bowls are tuned similarly to singing bowls, and were originally used for meditation. If you haven't seen these before, it's because they are relatively rare in the United States. Large Shrine - 29" highReally beautiful!! Made of solid wood with lavishly embossed white metal with copper details, this shrine is big! Taller and wider than the one above, it MEASURES 9" DEEP BY 16" WIDE, BY 29" HIGH. It has 2 arched doors with windows in them which open to reveal the area where you put your statues and other shrine objects. Below the doors is a little shelf that pulls out in front for food/water offerings, and under that, there is a drawer to keep incense and other items in. The inside of the drawer, the back and the bottom of the shrine are all painted with protective cinnabar red. The top arrives upside down, with screws (in drawer) and screw holes so you can put the top on correctly and securely. It has hangers on either side so it can hang on the wall (which is quite common to do in South America, Asia and Europe) or it can be placed on a table. It can also be placed on the floor if you are using it for a shrine to the Kitchen Gods. Or, if you are not shrine-inclined, this is a great artifact for storing special objects.
