Very smart and powerful, the design is in PROTECTIVE RED - this sturdy shoulder bag of hand-woven cotton is very well-made BY HAND and decorated in a traditional intricate Tibetan style with cowrie shells, coral beads and glass beads."Cowrie shells...", you may well ask -"Isn't that part of the world entirely mountainous?" - Why yes indeedy - the interesting thing is that in the old days the cowrie shells were discovered in fossil formations,(the Himalayas are 'young' geologically speaking, the shells indicate a time when the land was oceanous) - so to find an old shell or a fossil thereof is highly prized. They were used for adornment and still are, though they are easily obtained now through trade with coastal countries. But I digress - as I was saying, the center of the large size bag has a brass bead with turquoise chips. Center of the smaller one has a little colored bead. Clasp is Velcro, and there is one zippered pocket inside. Strap is 48 inches long so you can easily slip it over your head to the opposite shoulder - a good habit for security whilst traveling. The whole bag is made of strong hand-woven cotton, and the strap can easily be shortened by a little handy work with needle and thread. I prefer the long strap though, leaving both hands totally free with no worry about the shoulder bag slipping off.
